Mirpurkhas Hostel Appeal — This appeal is now closed.
In late 2020 to early 2021 we partnered with the Pakistan Church to raise the next generation of community changers. Mirpurkhas Hostel is a mission of the Hyderabad Diocese in Pakistan. New students enrolled to start at the hostel were prevented from attending the because of the financial devastation the Covid-19 lockdown had caused.
One of our Mission Partners reached out to Anglican Missions and NZCMS to ask if we could run an appeal asking for $10,000 to support the Hostel. This would be enough for the Hostel to be able to receive and support the new group of boys planning to attend the school at the start of the new academic year in 2021. We were delighted that our generous supporters raised over $27,000.
These funds have provided boys with access to education, and the chance to learn life, leadership, and vocational skills. The boys are becoming more resilient, multilingual, and resourceful. This is in keeping with the quality of the hostel’s education: former students have gone on to be key leaders and change agents in their villages, communities and churches.
NZCMS was instrumental in establishing this Hostel in the 1950’s, with former Mission Partners involved in building and supporting the original building. We continue to closely partner with this ministry and with Bishop Kaleem of the Diocese of Hyderabad. We are so thankful for everyone who added their support to this special hostel appeal.
Amazing!
