Anyone who has served globally knows that when international events hit the news, you connect in a different way if you’ve lived in that part of the world.
The conflict in Sudan has been close to my heart, having previously served as a NZCMS Mission Partner in neighbouring Egypt.
As part of the body of Christ, we’re called to intercede in prayer. Echoing the church in Africa we too “believe in the power of prayer and urge the Church to intercede for Sudan during this difficult time.”
A friend has written an article as an update on the situation facing the Church in Sudan, and how we can be praying: Khartoum Churches Damaged as Sudan Descends Closer to Civil War.
We join the Church in Sudan in praying:
For the families displaced from their homes, unable to return.
For the sick and injured who cannot find medical care.
For the poor and those trapped inside, lacking food.
For those who lost a loved one, to have God’s comfort.
For the conflict to stop soon and for all who have lost hope, that they might find it again.
Amen.
