We are delighted to introduce Rev John and Connie Sherlock, along with their daughter Emily, who will be joining the NZCMS family as Mission Partners. The Sherlocks will be attending St Andrews Hall (the CMS missionary training program in Melbourne) from July to November 2025 for their final preparation before heading to Rwanda, where they will undertake language and cultural learning initially.

John is an ordained Anglican Priest with a heart for theological education and mentoring, with significant experience in church ministry. He has a Masters in Theology focusing on “Mutuality in Mission,” and will bring thoughtful reflection and a passion for equipping leaders. Connie is a primary school teacher who has partnered extensively with John in ministry, particularly in children’s and family outreach initiatives.

The Sherlocks’ journey toward cross-cultural ministry was significantly shaped by John’s experience with NZCMS in Kenya in 2007, followed by a family sabbatical in Africa in 2015 which deepened their connection to the continent. They have sensed for some time that God is calling them to a new season, and we are delighted their path is leading them to them serving at the invitation of the Province of the Anglican Church in Rwanda.

Please join us in praying for the Sherlock family during this significant time of transition. Pray for wisdom as they pack up their lives, say farewells, and prepare spiritually for their move. Hold Emily in your prayers as she navigates this major life change and remember their two young adult sons as they adjust to having their family at a distance. Pray for God’s provision in the details of leaving well and for meaningful relationships in their new community at St Andrews Hall. May God go before them, preparing hearts for the ministry He has called them to share.
